Litigation and business - transatlantic trends
Faced with a raft of emerging liability risks and the threat of claims from a widening group of stakeholders, boards everywhere view litigation as a growing challenge. From shareholder activism to the protection of intellectual property, exposure to legal risks is growing. According to research carried out by Lloyd’s in conjunction with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), boards are spending more time and resources then ever looking at legal risks.
To help business leaders understand the risks they face, new research carried out by Lloyd’s 360 risk project in conjunction with RAND Institute of Civil Justice (ICJ) and RAND Europe examines three fast moving trends which are influential on both sides of the Atlantic: third party funding, class actions and forum shopping.
