UK residents may use the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) website to locate a local/suitable broker www.biba.org.uk/consumer/findbroker.asp or telephone the Consumer Helpline on 0870 950 1790.
US residents should contact an insurance agent or broker licensed to conduct business in the relevant state. Details can be found via www.napslo.net/.
An A-Z listing of Lloyd's brokers can be accessed using Lloyd's Market Directories.
Lloyd's is not a single insurance company; it is a market place where insurance and reinsurance risks are underwritten by syndicates of underwriting members. Subject to certain exceptions, only Lloyd's brokers can arrange insurance cover directly with Lloyd's underwriters, although other firms known as coverholders may be authorised to enter into contracts of insurance on behalf of Lloyd's underwriters.
